Seaside Dining

Remember earlier this week, I mentioned we had Husband's parents over for dinner?  Today I'm gonna share the tablescape I set up for dinner.

I started with a beige tablecloth.

And added a fish net as a table runner.

Added some cream placemats

And some silver chargers.

And seashell napkins and napkin rings.  Remember when I got these napkin rings super cheap, here?

I tied some twine around my white candle and stuck it in one of my lanterns.

And stole some decorations from our bathroom.  Shhh, don't tell anyone!  ;-)

Tablecloth: Target
Placemats: Bed Bath & Beyond
Silver chargers: GoodWill
Napkins: GoodWill
Plates: Husband's pre-marriage plates
Fishing net: Hobby Lobby
Napkin rings: Marshall's
White candle holders: Pier 1
Lantern: Pottery Barn
Candle: HomeGoods

I added mason jar glasses from Hobby Lobby too.

And outside I put up my seashell wreath, so our guests had a little preview of what their dining experience would be like.  But I'm sure they didn't realize it till later, but that's ok with me!

  1. Hi, Christina! I thought I looked at every single entry on the BNOTP site, but somehow I missed yours. You must have added it after 10:00 (CDT) last night? I need to remember to check back on that site on Friday mornings! Thanks again for stopping by my blog last night. I like your seaside table with the cool fishnet runner. Lanterns always make such a great nautical statement! I am so glad to see you are enjoying married life. It IS wonderful, isn't it? My husband and I are still newlyweds after 20 years. That's the only way to go! :-) Have a good one!

  2. Fabulous table, Christina! I looked for a fishnet when I did my table a few weeks ago, but couldn't find one...
    Have a nice weekend!

  3. What an elegant seaside 'scape! I am so "borrowing" your idea of putting twine around the candle; it really adds a lot of interest.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and your sweet comments. It is so much fun to tablescape and even more so when we can use the bargains we have found!

  5. Thank you all for your kind comments. They totally brighten my day!

Marigene, maybe try a craft or party store for a fishnet. Hope you're able to find one!

Pinky, I made tortellini (http://lessonsofanewlywed.blogspot.com/2011/07/yummy-tortellinis.html), salad, and lemon cupcakes.
